The co.com Registry has an open registration policy, meaning that any company, organization or individual is eligible to register domain names like companyname.co.com, organization.co.com, or just about anything.co.com.

Following is the current planned for the introduction of .co.com domains:

Sunrise Period: 30 day, first-come, first-serve for qualifying trademark holders:
February 24th – March 25th

Landrush Period: 90 day, first-come, first-serve open to all at Landrush Pricing:
April 8th – July 8th

General Availability: Ongoing first-come, first-serve registrations at standard pricing:
July 8th – ongoing

Managing a .co.com domain name is easy by logging in to the console at your Registrar provider in the same way you manage any other domain name such as .com, .net, .co.uk, etc.

Demand is expected to be very strong. Sixty-one countries currently offer domain names ending in “.co.countrycode” such as .co.uk and .co.jp, with registrations for those extensions totaling over 11 million.

Each year tens of millions of new .com domains are registered. Despite the introduction of new gTLDs, demand for domains ending in .com will continue to be very strong into the foreseeable future.

Domain name Registrars will determine the retail pricing for .co.com domain names. Premium domain pricing for names will be set by co.com LLC, and will vary depending on the domain name.

co.com Registry will conduct a Sunrise period prior to Landrush to give trademark holders an opportunity to register domain names that are exact matches of their trademarks in the Trademark Clearinghouse database. Contact your existing Registrar to find out about registering a .co.com domain name during the Sunrise period. co.com Registry will also subscribe to the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) policies for resolving intellectual property disputes. The Acceptable Use Policy will not allow the use of a co.com domain for phishing, pharming or spamming, distribution of malware, or other malicious behavior.
